Community Workshop - 18 May 2025

On Sunday, 18 May 2025, I hosted a community workshop in partnership with – and with the help of - local community members. (Note – it was not an official Council event)

My goal was that community members / groups go away with:

  • a better understanding of the role of these documents,
  • some ideas about issues they support or disagree with – and
  • some points that they might want to include in a submission.

A number of community groups spoke briefly about the documents that they have looked at – and any concerns that they have.

Presentations:

  • Draft Operational Plan and Delivery Program - Observations and comments (download here) - Jen Wilder (Peninsula Residents Assocn)
  • Notes from talk on the Community Strategic Plan (download here) - Jan Deighton (GUST)
  • Comparison of Community Strategic Plan (download here) - Gary Chestnut (Better Planning Group and Community Environment Network)
  • Submission from Climate Future (download here) - presented by Richard Weller (Climate Future)

We have also compiled a comparison of the current Community Strategic Plan (2018-2028) with draft plan being proposed (2025 - 2035). (download here)
