Community workshop - Have your say - Local Strategic Planning Statement

Sunday, 31 August 2025

3-5pm, Peninsula Community Centre

* Please note that this is not an official Central Coast Council event *

Central Coast Council is required to prepare and make a local strategic planning statement (LSPS) that will help guide future planning and development in your local area.

Local strategic planning statements (LSPS) will set out

  • the 20-year vision for land use in the local area
  • the special characteristics which contribute to local identity
  • shared community values to be maintained and enhanced
  • how growth and change will be managed into the future.

An interim LSPS was adopted in June 2020 with the intention that further work would be undertaken.

Councillor Jane Smith would like to hear from you. I have also invited my fellow Ward Councillors, Clr Belinda Neal and Clr Trent McWaide to attend and participate in the workshop.

Although this workshop may be focused on the Peninsula, Pearl, Beach and Patonga areas - it is also relevant to other locations - and we will capture your thoughts.

Please come along to find out why the LSPS is important to you - and have your say about the vision for your local area.

The event will include:

  • Presentation from Council staff about the LSPS
  • Brief presentations from local groups / experts about what they think are important considerations
  • An opportunity to share your views
  • An outline of next steps

Registrations are essential.
